Bumuo ng special prequalifying examination ang Bureau of Customs (BoC), katuwang ang Civil Service Commission (CSC), para sa lahat ng nag-a-apply ng trabaho sa kawanihan bilang bahagi ng pagbabago sa pagtanggap at proseso ng pagpili sa mga magiging bagong empleyado ng Customs.

Sa pamamagitan ng eksaminasyon ng CSC-Recruitment and Pacement Office, magbibigay ng pangkalahatang pangangasiwa sa mga proseso ng pagsubok pati na rin ang pagbuo ng CSC-BOC pre-qualifying tests para sa supervisory at non-supervisory positions. Ang mga pagsubok na binubuo ng General Aptitude (GAT) at Ethics-Oriented Personality Tests (EOPT) ay inilaan sa mga aplikante sa BOC.

Kumpiyansa si Customs Commissioner John Sevilla na ang CSC partnership ay makadadagdag sa proseso ng pagpili ng bureau.

“This is a landmark partnership that will further elevate our hiring process. With our partnership with the Civil Service Commission headed by Chairman Francisco Duque III, we are positive that we will be able to put into fruition processes that will ensure that all future BOC employees are competent, professional and ethical public servants,” ani Sevilla.

“We want to make sure that our employees are hired not because they have backers or have endorsements but because of their merit and they are physically fit to work. We also won’t tolerate nepotism, which can be a cause of corruption, that is why we will not entertain applicants who have relatives in the Bureau up to the 4th degree of consanguinity,” dagdag pa niya.

Sa bagong hiring process ay inisyal na sasalain ng Personnel Selection Boards (PSBs), na binubuo ng deputy commissioners, service directors at district collectors, ang lahat ng aplikante. Ang mga makakapasa sa inisyal na screening ay kukuha ng GAT at EOPT na pangangasiwaan ng CSC at isasalang sa ikalawang screening, na may competency-based exam at panel interview.

Gagawin din ang physical examination sa mga aplikante para sa mga intelligence at enforcement group. - Mina Navarro
