“Sergio ‘Yeyo’ Thompson remains in the hunt for another shot at a super featherweight title, following a well-earned 10-round points win over Adones Aguelo. Scores were 97-92 and 96-93 (twice) for Thompson in their Fox Deportes/Televisa-televised headliner Saturday evening,” ayon sa ulat ni boxing writer Jake Donovan ng BoxingScene.com.

“It seems that Thompson is incapable of being in a disinteresting fight. His latest ring appearance was no exception, as his blatant disregard for defense always leaves a sliver of hope for his opponent. For that reason, Aguelo enjoyed moments of success over the course of the 10-round affair,” dagdag sa ulat. “When Thompson dug in deep and went to work, he showed why he belongs on the contender. A dominant round six sealed the deal for an eventual win, with Thompson putting on a power punching display. A right uppercut put Aguelo on his heels, as he was eventually beaten to the canvas for the bout’s lone knockdown.”
